Neural Art Meets Edinburgh

My Mission

Typically, machine learning algorithms are used to solve various of engineering tasks such as object detection, classification and etc. However, they are also potential to creative tasks, include composition, versing and artworks. This project aims to explore the creative potential of machine learning. I’ll use different machine learning algorithms like fast-style-transfer and VQGAN+CLIP to create the art of the city of Edinburgh.

For example, if there are two images, A is a photograph of scenes from around the city of Edinburgh and B is a painting. It is possible to use fast-style-transfer algorithm to generate a resulting image that has the content of image A but in the style of the image B. One the other hand, based on VQGAN+CLIP, image A can even be edited by a text description to create art.
